Further Comments: Almost four hundred skeletons were discovered buried in the area during archaeological work. In the local press, the Rev Canon Mervyn Roberts said that they had received many reports of paranormal activities in properties in the roads above. The former occupant of Priory Orchard, the demolition of which triggered the dig, had also claimed the property as haunted.

Further Comments: A figure with a luminous face and white clothing took to frightening people travelling late at night. Who or what the figure was is unknown, but the South Wales Daily News implied it was a practical joker who should be caught and punished.

Further Comments: Travelling along the road one witness had to brake hard as a man ran out in front of his vehicle. The man was described was around six foot tall, thin faced with a moustache, and wearing a light coloured trench coat. The driver thought he would hit the figure, but when the vehicle stopped, the figure was nowhere to be seen.

Further Comments: The ghostly girl who haunts the pub's garden is said to have drowned in the nearby river while escaping a fire in the pub. The entity skips through the garden and across the river, occasionally popping into the pub to play with the taps.

Further Comments: While walking her dog with her father, this witness observed a large dog-shaped figure in the middle of the track about 20 metres away. It was around a metre high, very shaggy looking and had brown fur. It was also 'blurry'. The entity vanished as the witness approached, although dematerialised as the witness walked away.

Further Comments: Two police officers spotted a bright white light in the distance while driving along the A3. As they drove under the light at the flyover, they could make out three white lights on a black triangle shape with a dim pulsating red light in the centre. Other drivers had pulled over and watched the shape. Eight more lights were spotted drifting over Guildford.

Further Comments: The spirit of a nineteenth century military man was seen looking back at two witnesses as they gazed into a mirror in room 1. Actor Sir Roger Moore claimed to have watched a misty figure moving towards him as he sat in bed. When Moore change position, the figure vanished.

Further Comments: Jane Seymour returns every 12 October (the date she gave birth to her son), while Anne Boleyn, dressed in blue, is said to walk the passageways of the palace. A silently screaming Catherine Howard has been watched moving towards the chapel (on 4 November), where she begged Henry VIII to save her life. Howard's disembodied hand was spotted and sketched by an artist working in the Guard Watching Chamber in 1900. A photograph taken in December 2003 showing a 'ghostly' hooded figure opening a fire escape has been dismissed as a hoax. In 1989 a figure spotted wearing a Victorian nightshirt vanished in front of a witness. Finally, an Edwardian story says the clock stops unaided whenever someone dies in the palace.

Further Comments: The fourth wife of Henry VIII was said to walk through bricked up doorways in the building to which she became banished. In the mid 2000s, the hotel charged a premium to stay in a haunted room, to cover additional insurance and ghost hunting equipment hire.
