Further Comments: This Rector murdered his wife after he caught her having an affair with a manservant. He is doomed to walk the buildings walls, and the bloodstain that her body created cannot be removed from the bedroom.

Further Comments: Every breakable item in the household was reportedly smashed by this poltergeist. Visitors had to dodge a flying basin, and one person fainted after witnessing the activity. The occupants finally moved in with neighbours.

Further Comments: Visited during the day when a nightclub, a member of the Sheffield Paranormal Society and other witnesses reported hearing a series of bangs, experiencing icy cold temperature and a twitching curtain, and feeling compression on her chest whilst in the former cinema projection room. It was said that a former projectionist loved his job and may have never left. The site was also said to have experienced several people dying in a fight in the dim and distant past. The visitors were told that cleaners in the toilets had been hit by unseen hands, while two security guards experienced something which resulted in them never returning.

Further Comments: A local vicar, while sitting by the river, watched a line of white troops pass accompanied by white horses - he wrote that it took over an hour for the column to pass.

Further Comments: This restless spirit was said to have made an appearance at many church events over a period of four hundred years, before she finally departed this plane of existence late in the nineteenth century.

Further Comments: The area around the site thought to be Robin Hood's final resting place (one of them!) is said to be haunted by a white lady who drifts around the area.

Further Comments: The ghosts of several miners killed in a disaster in the 1850s were reported when the surrounding pits were in operation during the twentieth century.

Further Comments: Several poltergeist-like events have occurred in this shop, formally a funeral parlour. Items have fallen from shelving without a 'normal' explanation, while the occasional strange mist appears on CCTV.

Further Comments: Said to be built on the site of a poorhouse, the sounds of children wailing can be heard on the Infectious Diseases ward. A ghost nicknamed Sally haunts another area of the hospital and reportedly touches the side of anyone who enters the side room in which she died, while an area of offices is home to a friendly phantom old lady who sits in a rocking chair.

Further Comments: Over a ten week period, the Wite family experienced random heavy knocking and disembodied footsteps throughout their home. Mrs White heard something crying upstairs and another family member claimed that something had pushed their head underwater while they washed the dishes.

Further Comments: A manager at the hotel called in a ghost hunting group after a phantom woman was seen walking along the upper corridor, and a ghostly young child was reported sitting in the corner of the restaurant.

Further Comments: Two men were walking along the platform one night. The paraffin lamp one man was carrying was wrenched from his hand and flew several metres in front of him. After picking up the lamp, the event repeated itself again. Both men retreated.

Further Comments: As the name of the place suggests, this ancient monument was created when the Devil dropped an apron full of stones while on route to one of his many building projects.

Further Comments: Situated on the moors west of Sheffield, this isolated inn is reportedly home to a phantom grey lady.

Further Comments: A young couple walking through the churchyard spotted two elderly ladies in clothing from a bygone era walking towards them along the same path. The younger pair stepped into the church porch, listening to the old women's approaching footsteps which suddenly stopped in mid-stride. They stepped out of the church pouch and looked for the women, who had just vanished.

Further Comments: The well marks the area where Barnsdale Forest once stood; a huge expense of woodland suitable for a rogue's hideaway.

Further Comments: A witness who lived here as a child recounted how the family had several brass plates with sea scenes on tied to the wall, which would fling themselves from the wall to the floor as if someone were annoyed at them being there. Heavy male footsteps could be heard, stopping outside a door - the boots could be briefly seen under the door before fading away.

Further Comments: A serpent dwelt in a well which took the creature's name and would fly between the hole and Cawthorn Park.

Further Comments: Sightings of this spectral figure date back to the 1770s, when he was first seen drifting among the ruins. Reports also exist of sightings of a white woman, and the sounds of quiet voices and bumping.
