Lady Lightfoot

Further Comments: This ghostly woman drove her coach and horses around inside the courthouse, screaming in protest of her murder while in prison.

Headless Man

Location: Lulsley - Sandy Lane (between Osebury Rock and the river)
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: One folk story says this road is home to several entities that appear to travellers, including a headless man, a white horse, a black dog, and a sad woman with flowing hair who wears a white robe.

George Bernard Shaw

Location: Malvern - Festival Theatre
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Mid twentieth century
Further Comments: The loud footsteps heard throughout the building are attributed to Shaw, though no one has seen his form.

Eagle Man

Location: Malvern Hills - Exact area unknown
Type: Cryptozoology
Date / Time: Unknown - circa late twentieth century?
Further Comments: Two women and their partners out hillwalking were hounded by a large eagle-like figure. All four people were left terrified by their encounter, and one of the women collapsed with shock. One man with whom they discussed their encounter with suggested it was a 'gatekeeper entity'.

Lost Soul

Location: Malvern Hills - Upper reaches of the hills

Further Comments: The higher parts of these hills, over a thousand feet above sea level, are home to a shade which drifts around lost and confused.

invisible Bird

Location: Malvern Wells - Grundys Lane
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: 2000s
Further Comments: Two occupants of a house on this street felt the sensation of an invisible bird passing through their heads, and out a closed window.

The Scream

Location: Morton Underhill - Private residence
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1985, 04:00h
Further Comments: A guest in the house awoke in the early hours and found the environment incredibly peaceful. After looking out of the window at the garden in the moonlight, they returned to bed, and just as the guest closed my eyes, there was a blood-curdling scream against their left ear. The voice was male, loud, and horrendous. The guest fled screaming from the room. The family who owned the house were very understanding and said the whole area was haunted.

Flying Glasses

Location: Norton - Retreat public house
Type: Poltergeist

Further Comments: The local press reported that glasses would fly off tables and children's toys would be activated by an unseen presence.

Black Panther

Location: Pershore - Outside of Croome Estate
Type: ABC
Date / Time: 01 June 2012, April 2016
Further Comments: A witness reported seeing a black panther moving through a rapeseed field in 2012, while in 2016, another couple reported seeing another black cat in the same area.

Shadowy Figure

Location: Pershore - Pershore Working Men's and Old Comrades Club
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1976-1977
Further Comments: Late at night a shadowy figure was frequently seen moving from the entrance to the club through to the ballroom. Numerous witnesses, including local police officers, who insisted on investigating would never find anyone. Poltergeist activity was also reported in the club, including glasses breaking and temperature fluctuations. One man who dismissed the sightings tried to spend the night there - he fled after being overwhelmed by a sense of fear.

Green Flash

Location: Pershore - Skies above the area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Circa 2005
Further Comments: One witness reported seeing a green flash in the sky, followed by a green light 'swirling' before vanishing.

Royalist

Location: Pershore - Talbot public house
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: A phantom Royalist soldier, connected to the 1651 Battle of Worcester, is said to haunt this pub.

Sailor

Location: Pershore - Angel Inn and Posting House
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1994?
Further Comments: This phantom sailor, dressed in a dark blue donkey jacket resembling Second World War uniform, has been observed several times in the dining room. He always stands in front of the fireplace.

Tall Glowing Shape

Location: Pershore - Area around the River Avon
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: August 1965
Further Comments: During a week in August several strange entities were seen, including a glowing square and a six foot high figure floating a metre above the ground, heading towards a local churchyard. A group of fifty (!) ghost hunters formed a circle around one misty shape, but it vanished.

Horse-Drawn Coach

Location: Pershore - High Street

Further Comments: A woman heard a horse drawn coach outside her place of employment, but when she looked out of the window, nothing could be seen.

Steam Whistle

Location: Redditch - Along the A441 by Oakenshaw McDonalds
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: On quiet nights you are said to be able to hear a steam whistle from a train which once passed along this area before the line was closed by Beecham.

Monk

Location: Redditch - Blackhill (or Brockhill) Women's Prison, on the grounds of Hewell Grange
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 2001
Further Comments: Several people reported seeing a ghost in a habit pass through a wall inside the prison complex. Staff at the prison have also reported feeling 'uneasy' at night.

Drowned Girl

Location: Redditch - Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: One story says the mill is haunted by a phantom woman who drowned herself in the mill pond. The grounds of the nearby Bordesley Abbey, now ruined, once encompassed the land where the mill stands, which may explain the ghostly monks reported on both sites.

Lady Mohun

Location: Redditch - Moon's Moat

Date / Time: 20 January (reoccurring) but last seen 21 January 2003
Further Comments: This small, moated island is reportedly haunted by this woman, who is reported to appear every St Agnes Eve.

Sound of Horses

Location: Redditch - The Lane, Church Hill South
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: A local legend says that the phantom horses heard in this area belonged to Roman riders who fell into a large pit trap dug by their enemies.

Angry Tenant

Location: Salwarpe - Area around the Driotwich Canal
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: The ghost of a house owner returned when he discovered that part of his former house was being demolished to make a path for this waterway. However, his appearance failed to prevent the construction.

Sinking Coach

Location: Shelsea Wash - Court House
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: A phantom coach travels towards this building, only to sink into the moat that surrounds it.

Coach

Location: South Littleton - Countryside between village and Bretforton
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Moving over a road that vanished long ago, this coach is seen smoothly traversing bumpy fields and overgrown woods.

Alice

Location: Stoke Prior - Navigation Inn
Type: Poltergeist
Date / Time: 2000s
Further Comments: Alice either committed suicide or was murdered during the nineteenth century, in the old kitchen which is now the ladies' toilets. People have heard the breaking of plates, though nothing is ever found broken, and thuds and bangs in one of the toilet's cubicles. The disturbances stop if Alice is acknowledged.

Lady in Grey

Location: Tardebigge - Country Club (was part of the Hewell Grange estate)
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1962
Further Comments: A cowled woman in grey would haunt the main bar, with one member of staff referring to the entity as beautiful and harmless. The poltergeist at the same bar caused more of an issue, breaking ashtrays tearing down decorations, and rocking tables and chairs. Another phantom haunted the ballroom, and although said to be frightening, no description was forthcoming.
