Further Comments: A group of eight people watched a perfectly round, dark object silently traverse the sky. No lights were visible from the object. A strange fiery UFO has also been spotted off the coast, though the date of this sighting is unknown.

Further Comments: On a very hot summer evening two orange orbs were seen falling from the sky. Moving extremely fast, they appeared to chase each other. The objects were watched for around ten seconds before dropping and disappearing behind the horizon.

Further Comments: Filey was named as UFO hotspot of the year, after local UFO groups received 48 reports of unidentified flying objects over a twelve month period.

Further Comments: One witness spotted two red lights hovering silently hovering over the cliff before they descended and vanished. Sheep in a nearby field appeared destressed. The following night, the same witness spotted a small drone-like craft which transformed into a rectangular orange object, like a ball of energy, which crackled and buzzed. The object remained visible for a few minutes. Two people nearby were able to hear the crackling of the object but could not see it.

Further Comments: One witness heard a quiet mechanical sound and could make out the faint shape of dark rectangular shape pass their caravan.

Further Comments: A witness reported seeing two bright lights, with a blurred light between them, moving rapidly through the sky. No sound accompanied the lights as they moved north-east on a horizontal plane.

Further Comments: Five-year-old Robert Hall, together with other children, encountered several strange figures shortly after observing an egg-shaped flying object. One of the figures resembled a short bigfoot, while another had a skeletal body and bat wings. After taking a sample of Robert's blood, the figures left. The following day, a short 'grey'-like alien appeared to Robert. The boy's screams brought his uncle to the scene, who killed the alien with a shovel. A local story says the alien's body is buried in a nearby churchyard (or concealed within a secret room).

Further Comments: During an overnight camping and fishing trip, Philip Cotton and Jean Clark watched a rotating orange and blue object that made a sound like a washing machine. They retreated to their car because the noise grew too loud, but reported the light was 'friendly' and they did not feel afraid of it.

Further Comments: An apprentice joiner spotted three bright orange globe-shaped lights in the sky while walking from work. He rushed home and told his parents, who laughed at his tale until a local radio broadcast mentioned several people had reported orange lights over the city.

Further Comments: One witness reported seeing a bright orange light moving slowly below the cloud line. The witness then heard a massive roar, like fighter planes, heading towards the light. The light shot upwards and disappeared into clouds.

Further Comments: There are reports of two fireballs seen over the town during this month; one flew over the town while the second exploded, showering the area in sparks and hail stones.

Further Comments: Three men watched a bright glowing ball, between four to five feet in diameter pass a few feet over a house and descend into a field where it disappeared in a small flash of light. The following day they went to check where the ball had vanished but found nothing. One witness said the ball had a white centre but glowed different colours at the edges.

Further Comments: Two men walking dogs along the shore at dusk spotted a bright star-like light at high altitude. One witness said that he would have passed it off as a military jet, but it made an instant 140 degree turn before disappearing into clouds.

Further Comments: Teacher Michael Valance encountered a flying box hovering over the moors. He reported the UFO as glowing and having four bright windows. The craft vanished after several minutes.

Further Comments: Several people spotted a strange wheelie bin-shaped object flying silently across the sky, fire seemingly coming from the bottom of the craft. One man photographed the object, and although the images were reasonably clear, the object remained unidentifiable until it was reported in the local press the 'craft' was a home-made hot air balloon.

Further Comments: A family driving home spotted a huge object in the sky, so large that it appeared to blot out the sky as it moved slowly across. When the family arrived home, one phoned the local radio station to report it and was told 'many' others had also reported it, and that the RAF had told the station that it was a crashing Russian spy satellite.

Further Comments: At least three witnesses observed a very large circle of flashing lights for ten minutes as it crossed the sky. The lights moved both clockwise and anticlockwise, while another set pulsated.

Further Comments: A pleasure beach employee watched a stationary blue-grey spinning object in the sky that changed from cigar shape to disc. After five minutes the object suddenly disappeared, reappearing briefly over the sea before disappeared for good.

Further Comments: This witness spotted a solid green glowing ufo with an orange trail as it crossed the sky heading east. The object generated no sound.

Further Comments: This female abductee reported watching a male human vivisected while she was on board the alien craft. Later the same day, several witnesses reported lights and strange shapes in the sky.
Location: Guildford (Surrey) - A3, Guildford Flyover

Further Comments: Two police officers spotted a bright white light in the distance while driving along the A3. As they drove under the light at the flyover, they could make out three white lights on a black triangle shape with a dim pulsating red light in the centre. Other drivers had pulled over and watched the shape. Eight more lights were spotted drifting over Guildford.

Further Comments: Two police officers watched a large red light moving by the lake - as they approached it vanished suddenly. The officers then spotted a strange white object; this also vanished. Three days later, two men walking their dogs encountered a blue figure that stood around 2.5 metres tall and 1.25 metres wide. Like the UFOs, this figure also vanished.

Further Comments: Seven red lights were seen bobbing up and down as they slowly moved across the sky before fading away. The witness was told the lights were actually 'light reflecting off migrating birds', although they had not seen this effect prior to the sighting or since. The village was considered a hotspot for UFO sightings during the early 2000s.

Further Comments: An alien contactee claimed to have witnessed a ufo landing on the mountain, where the craft left imprints. The witness was later contacted by a strange being with short curly hair who wore a blue jumpsuit.

Location: Haltwhistle (Northumberland) - Ten miles north of town in a marshy area

Date / Time: December 1968
Further Comments: A witness wrote to the RAF claiming he had seen a large silver disc crash and that he had investigated inside the craft before it had (mostly) sunk into the marsh. The RAF asked the police to investigate; the witness admitted that while he had seen the craft and thought it was going to land, he had fabricated the rest of the tale.
