Giant Shadow

Knife Thrower

Further Comments: The East London Paranormal Research Society visited this site after staff reported poltergeist activity, including a butter knife which was thrown from an empty kitchen. The society claimed to establish contact with a sixteenth century witch and a young boy.

Sunk Church

Sepia Girl

Further Comments: A young girl spotted by a woman in this home was briefly mistaken for her niece before the witness remembered the niece was not at home. The girl had a sepia tint and had a long white nightgown on with frilly cuffs at the wrist, long blonde hair in pigtails, and a white nightcap.

Man in Black

Further Comments: While using a large trolley to move stock, a woman spotted a man dressed in black wearing a flat cap sitting on the trolley. She ran to find a colleague, but the figure quickly vanished. The witness says other people have seen shadows on the site, and a rumour is circulating that when the site was an operating brewery, a man lost his life in an accident.

Rattling

Further Comments: Staff and customers have heard rattling padlocks and noises throughout the building when no one else is around. A manager watched a padlock move and rattle unaided - he ran from the area to the reception and watched the CCTV footage, only to see a shadowy figure appear on the screen that did not trip any alarms.

The Pushing Chair

Further Comments: People who sit in a certain chair in the auditorium experience the sensation of being pushed. This phenomenon is said to be related to a suicide which once occurred here. Watchers on one ghost hunt heard footsteps and tapping in the same area but could see no one.

Young Girl in White Dress

Jack

Further Comments: Acting for a local landowner, Jack would harass boatmen who docked in the area. The boatmen tired of Jack's behaviour and they killed him, only for Jack to return from the grave and continue to upset those who docked on the waterway.

Tall Man

Cavalier

Heavy Breathing

Further Comments: This ghost was heard several times, breathing heavily around female members of staff, but never being seen. A second entity wears a bowler hat and has been known to ask about the whereabouts of his briefcase - both case and man were in an aircraft that crashed in the late 1940s, killing all on board. A phantom Dick Turpin rides a brown horse across the runways (or cargo sheds), while cleaning staff during the 1970s reported a presence which held them down, applying pressure around their throats. Finally, prior to the airport being built, a phantom Saxon prince reputedly haunted the area close to a pond where he drowned.

Woman with a Red Scarf

White Lady

Further Comments: In January 1940, Rifleman Gilbert accidently shot and killed Rifleman Anderson while on guard duty. Although their weapons should have been unloaded, both soldiers placed rounds in their rifles after talking about the local ghost (a white lady) and what they would do if they spotted her.

Young Woman

Further Comments: A witness spotted a faint, translucent young woman, between 20-24 years old, standing by the front of a bed. The blonde haired ghost appeared to be wearing a pleated lilac skirt and a pink tank top, and held a pink handbag and a lipstick. The woman turned and looked at the witness before disappearing.

Transparent Figure

Further Comments: Online communities were heavily debating CCTV footage which showed a transparent figure passing through doors and a metal barrier before vanishing. A former chairman of the building is said to have believed the site haunted and would say hello to the ghosts as he entered in an effort to placate them.

Shark Attack

Further Comments: A woman swimming in this reservoir was attacked by a creature under the water that grabbed and held her foot with its mouth. The woman managed to kick the creature off, and when the bite marks were examined by a marine biologist, she was told the creature must have been a shark.
