Further Comments: A ship was attacked by a sea serpent, which wrapped itself around the ship's mast until the crew hit back - it fell back into the sea but followed the vessel for two more days before disappearing.

Sea Monsters

Location: Barmouth - Waters of the bay

Date / Time: Late twentieth century / early twenty-first century
Further Comments: Several sightings of various strange creatures have occurred over recent years, from the traditional sea serpent to a creature resembling a giant turtle with an egg shaped head and two spines jutting from its back. A blurred photograph taken in January 2016 that the national press claimed was the monster was more than likely to have been a log.

Female Spectre

Singing

Location: Beaumaris - David Hughes Community Centre

Further Comments: When leaving the building one evening, a woman heard a male voice singing. Looking up the stairs, she spotted a figure wearing a long black cape standing on the landing. The figure disappeared up the stairs and the singing stopped.

Haunted for Hire

Further Comments: The gaol featured in local news after it was reported to be opening its doors to ghost hunters to raise additional funds. The building had previously featured in Most Haunted.

Water Fairies

Location: Beddgelert - Aberglaslyn Pass

Date / Time: Nineteenth century
Further Comments: A witness watched the little people playing merrily in the water at the pass. Nearby is the grave of Gelert (the dog that was mistakenly killed by its master after saving a child from a wolf) where the hound's ghost has been reported. Finally, the ghostly woman in white who haunts the area is an ill omen, with death said to follow a sighting.

Drowned Man

Location: Beddgelert - Craflwyn Hall

Further Comments: During a ghost hunt in 2017, people reported the sensation of being watched in the gardens of the house (possibly by the spirit of a man who drowned in a nearby lake) and heard a ball being bounced. The apparition of a servant has also been seen in the vicinity of the stables, Traditionally, the building was haunted by a Victorian woman wearing a long, red silk dress.

David Pritchard

Further Comments: A landlord of the hotel whose inventiveness made him quite wealthy in the late eighteenth century, David sometimes walks the corridors admiring the source of his income.

Dream

Location: Benllech - Pant y Saer Cromlech Burial Chamber
Type: Legend
Date / Time: 1874
Further Comments: John Jones had a dream in which he found a pot of gold contained within this cromlech, at the time located on his brother's land. Excavations found no gold (only human remains) so the hunt was abandoned.

Williams' Treasure

Location: Bethesda - Site of a house once owned by Dr John Williams
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: Pre-twentieth century
Further Comments: Archbishop Williams appeared twice after his death to the female owner of a shop built where his house once stood. Williams instructed the woman to dig in a certain place in her garden, but she refused. Many years later, a father and son digging in the garden stumbled upon Williams' hidden hoard.

Miners

Further Comments: A pair of miners are said to haunt this site, previously seen walking off together into the darkness. The sounds of pickaxe on rock have also been heard echoing in the disused pit.

Slender Lady

Location: Bodorgan - Woodland close to Trefdraeth, was known as Treveilir Wood

Further Comments: Einion ap Gwalchmai was said to have encountered a pale and slender lady in this wooded area who had hooves instead of feet. The lady was later discovered to be a disguised goblin, who tried to ruin Einion's marriage by taking various forms.

Further Comments: Anyone who spends a night camped on this mountain range is said to either wake up a poetic genius or go insane. The spectral hounds of Annwn, the Cwn Annwn, are also said to stalk the mountains, their howls warning that a death will soon follow. Finally, the mountain is reputed to have taken its name from a giant who sat there to rest - the stray rocks scattered around the area are the pebbles he picked from his boots.

Further Comments: This shade, sometimes seen drifting down the corridors, is thought to be responsible for messing around with electrical equipment left out at night. A photograph taken by a tourist in 2001 shows a blue misty form in the courtyard.

Very Old Monk

Location: Clynnog-fawr - Monastery (no longer standing)

Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: A devout monk once fell asleep by a river and awoke a thousand years later. He found a monastery had been constructed during his rest and asked the occupants for a bed. The following morning all that remained of the monk was a pile of ash in the sheets.
