Phantom Horses & Riders from across the Isles

Coach

Location: Wool (Dorset) - Hethfelton House and/or stone bridge close to Bindon Abbey
Type: Crisis Manifestation
Date / Time: Midnight, prior to disaster (reoccurring)
Further Comments: This horse drawn coach drawn by four horses drives by the house, heading towards the River Frome (or Bindon Abbey passing over the fifteenth century stone bridge over the river. Only those who have Turbeville blood can view the phantom.

Woman

Location: Wool (Dorset) - Ruins of Bindon Abbey
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This phantom woman wearing a flowing grey dress is said to be quite beautiful and walks from the ruins to the nearby River Frome.

Guarded Secret Tunnel

Location: Worthing (Sussex) - Cissbury Ring (Hillfort)
Type: Dragon
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Leading to an untold amount of wealth, the tunnel hidden in this hillfort is guarded by a pair of snake-like dragons. The ghost of a druid is reported to haunt the site looking for this treasure, and the sound of phantom galloping horses have also been reported. Finally, another legend says the structure was formed by earth falling off the Devil's shovel as he tried to dig a hole in the South Downs.

Phantom Coach

Location: Wroxham (Norfolk) - Bridge
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 19 May (reoccurring)
Further Comments: A ghostly coach and four passes over this bridge once a year. It is said to be driven by a headless Sir Thomas Boleyn and is one of eleven bridges that he passes over on the night of his daughter Anne's execution.

Horsemen

Location: Wyke (Yorkshire) - A58/A641 junction, also known as Hell Fire Corner
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Both ghostly horsemen and a phantom car have reported around this junction. The area is considered an accident black spot, begging the question whether ghosts cause the accidents or are they the products?

Screaming Horses

Location: Wythall (West Midlands) - Black Greve Farm
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 24 December (reoccurring)
Further Comments: Locals say that the horses belonged to a Roman chariot; the driver lost control in the ice and snow, and the entire team fell into a deep ditch and died.

Nobleman

Location: York (Yorkshire) - St George's Field
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Having lost an illegal duel, this figure died; his ghost now staggers around the area, fooling people into believing he is still alive prior to vanishing. A man on horseback also appears in the park and is named as Dick Turpin.
