Teleporting Goats

Location: Cape Clear Island (County Cork) - Goat house

Date / Time: Early 2000s, for a five year period
Further Comments: A goat keeper on the island engaged the Ghost Eire team to investigate why three young goats would move between two pens separated by two six-foot walls, on six different nights. The goat keeper speculated it may have been fairies, upset that he had placed an iron roof on the goat shed.

Milk Snatcher

Location: Cara Island (Argyll and Bute) - Old MacDonald house

Date / Time: Pre twentieth century
Further Comments: The brownie that took up residence in the MacDonald's home would steal their milk and occasionally create loud noises. The entity had a reputation for hating any Campbells and would also spend time at Largie Castle in Tayinloan.

Carraig

Location: Carlingford (County Louth) - Mountain

Date / Time: Coins found 1989-2002, hunt occurs second Sunday of May
Further Comments: There was a flurry of Leprechaun activity on this mountain after a green suit and several gold coins were discovered in 1989. Two years later, 'Leprechaun Whisperer' Kevin Woods claimed to have contacted Carraig, elder for the 236 remaining leprechauns in the area. The little people are now protected in the area, and while there is an annual Leprechaun Hunt, the only things found are tiny cauldrons which have been left by the fairy folk themselves.

Further Comments: Once a popular place for pixies to frequent and dance, they have not been seen in recent years. They are said to be protecting a concealed hoard of gold. A large rock in the area was said to feature a tiny footprint.

Changeling

Location: Castlemartyr (County Cork) - Exact location not known

Further Comments: Mary Scannell discovered that her own healthy baby had been replaced by a sickly child which did not stop crying - a changeling! A wise woman told Mary to underfeed the changeling and to beat it. Within a week the new child had gone, and the fairies returned Mary's own baby.

Dunnie

Further Comments: A troublemaking entity, the Dunnie was said to take the form of a horse and allow itself to be ridden, only to disappear when the rider was above a muddy puddle.

The Funny Man

Strange Sprite

Further Comments: This religious building was due to be built in a slightly different position, but every night a large fairy appeared and moved the walls. The builders finally gave in and finished the construction where the sprite recommended.

Further Comments: A Bronze Age cemetery, the haunting sound of fiddling heard in this area has led some to say that the music is produced by fairies. A few people who have removed stones from the site are reported to have returned them after suffering streaks of bad luck.
