Further Comments: This ghostly man with blonde hair and a blue tint stood in the road; an incoming vehicle had to violently swerve to avoid the figure. When the driver realised the man had vanished, he quickly drove off. There has also been a report of a phantom woman with long blonde hair along the A229, said to have been a bride killed one day prior to her wedding day.

Further Comments: Walking a short distance behind an older man with long white hair, this witness briefly looked down, during which time the old man vanished. Barbed wire fencing on either side of the path suggested the figure had not turned off.

Further Comments: Crowds of holiday makers watched several boats chase a sea serpent across the bay. The creature was said to be brown and yellow in colour, and about twenty feet (six metres) long. It managed to evade and escape the pursuers.

Further Comments: A shuffling figure is said to haunt the part of the pier which has been cut off from the main section after a storm in 1979. In 2012 a video was released on YouTube purporting to show this entity, although it is more likely that the figure is a real person who used a boat to land on the isolated section.

Further Comments: This haunting restricted itself to the sounds of men talking, with the occasional burst of song. The occupant reported the voices could be heard day or night and sounded to be in high spirits.

Further Comments: This is Kent website reported that a retired nursing home assistant was being haunted by an entity which groped her at night and would shake the mattress. The Herne Bay Times arranged a visit from a couple of ghost hunters to banish the spirit.

Further Comments: Reported in the local press, after Kenny Iddenden moved his fridge he found an image of Jesus on the wall, formed out of mould. After photographing the find, he wiped it away.

Further Comments: A motorcyclist riding along the road experienced their lights failing, quickly followed by the engine cutting out and the breaks of their bike jamming. The rider managed to keep her balance, and then watched as a misty human shape crossed the road. The figure moved from left to right and was followed by the sound of large dogs. As the sound of the dogs faded, the motorcyclist started to push the bike and managed a bump start.

Further Comments: This horrid looking woman has had the skin burnt off her face and hands. She is accompanied by the smell of dead burning flowers, and a drop in temperature.

Further Comments: Boleyn's spirit crosses the bridge once a year. The area is also haunted by a farmer, robbed and murdered nearby.

Further Comments: Several dog walkers had seen a man dressed in black with a white stripe on his outfit along this road, his silence when spoken to a topic of discussion between the pet owners. One dog owner then reported that the man had disappeared in front of their eyes and refused to walk his dog in the same area. One person researched the area and found that a German aircraft had crashed here, speculating that the man in black was a pilot.

Further Comments: During a book lecture, Alfred Tennyson Dickens claimed that servants at his home had threatened to leave after being scared by a ghost. Dickens and his sons investigated and discovered a strange sounding white shape, which transpired to be an aging goat.

Further Comments: Kent Arboreal reported working on a site which was plagued by bangs, knocks, and darting shadows. Another supplier refused to be on the site alone. On one occasion, after a loud bang occurred when workers and the owner were present, the owner asked witnesses not to say anything.

Further Comments: The ghost of a small man has been seen, while disembodied footsteps have been heard in the grounds, and in the bedroom invisible clothing has been heard moving. Poltergeist activity was encountered around 1970, when the family reported that something would lift items from surfaces and drop them to the floor. It may be in this building that the ghost of Catherine Howard has also been seen.

Further Comments: While the legends say this lady was killed by (or on the orders of) Guy Fawkes for warning the authorities about the Gunpowder Plot, it is quite unlikely to be the case. However, even if not the Dame, a spirit does walk the building, and is held accountable for the mysterious cold spots.
