Foetal Position

Further Comments: A female form laying in a foetal position on the road was encountered by a driver and passenger. The woman looked to be in her early twenties and wore a black dress and high heeled shoes or boots. As the driver stopped his car, the figure lifted her head and raised her hand. The driver moved the car to one side of the road, but when he and his passenger climbed out to help the woman, the entity had vanished.

Dog as Large as a Bike
Location: Tollesbury - On the route to Jordan's Green, along the lane that leads up to Gorwell Hall.

Further Comments: Shuck sightings appear quite common in this area. This encounter involved a woman coming face to face with a black dog with a bright red tongue, which was as large as her bicycle. It chased her (or ran alongside her, according to other stories) as she peddled down the road, disappearing soon after.

White Lady

White Fuzz

Further Comments: While approaching the level crossing, one driver reported seeing a fuzzy, humanoid shape on the pavement by the barrier. The witness drove past the entity, and looked in the rear view mirror, but it had vanished. Other reports of a white shape have been made, the entity moving from the church towards the rail crossing.

Black Ape with Glowing Yellow Eyes

Fisherman

Further Comments: One witness reported engaging in conversation with what could have been a phantom fisherman while alone on the pier. In addition, the promenade is said to be haunted by a dozen or so figures milling about.

War Apparition
Location: Walton-on-the-Naze - Tower on the Naze

Further Comments: Used by the military as an observation post during the Second World War, one soldier ran screaming from the tower building, claiming that he had seen a ghost. It was said that the officer in charge covered up the incident. The pillboxes in the area are now said to be home to disembodied voices, the sound of loading weapons, and a figure in a trench coat.

Moving Baby

Further Comments: The Metro reported that a couple fled this property after their newly born baby was moved across the room by an invisible presence. Prior to this, it was claimed that something grabbed and scratched the arm of the child's mother, while the father had been subjected to an electric shock.

Screams of a Young Girl Falling
Location: Weeley - Hillside House

Further Comments: Since the house was built, it is believed that two girls have fallen down the stairs and have died because of their injuries - and the ghost of at least one of them re-enacts the scene. Even when the building stands empty, a face has been reported staring out of one of the windows. If this were not enough to deter people from moving into the property, a local legend tells of a rocking chair in the house that would not stop moving. The owner of the house placed it in the loft; it could still be heard, so it was moved to the shed. Within a week, the chair rocked itself back into the loft.
