Monk

Location: Wicken - Wicken Fen, Northwest of Wicken - farm called Spinney Abbey
Type: Haunting Manifestation

Further Comments: Named after a priory that stood long ago on the site, Spinney Abbey is haunted by a monk believed to have been murdered in 1406. Plainchant has also been heard in the area.

Vanishing Dog Walker

Location: Wicken - Wicken Road, between Wicken and Deanshanger
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: August 2016
Further Comments: A driver passing along this road with high banks slowed as he approached a person walking their dog. The driver checked the mirror as they braked, and upon looking ahead again, the figure had vanished, although there was no side roads or paths.

Big and Black

Location: Willingham - Exact area unknown
Type: ABC
Date / Time: February 1996
Further Comments: This typical large black cat seen at some distance.

Demonic Mice

Location: Willingham - General area
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: One time owner of the mice, Jabez Few, sold his soul to the devil, and left his mice to look after themselves. Locals say they have done ever since.

Chef

Location: Wisbech - Angel Inn
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: It is claimed that the pub is haunted by a former chef.

Corpse in Bedroom

Location: Wisbech - Hanneth Hall (4 miles north of Wisbech)
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1800s onwards
Further Comments: Local legend states that after the lady of the hall died, she lay in the now haunted bedroom for six weeks while the husband went through his denial.

Footsteps

Location: Wisbech - Shoe shop along the High Street
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Twentieth century
Further Comments: Phantom footsteps could be heard moving around on the staircase and in the upper part of the building during one Christmas season.

Mischievous Man in Three Pointed Hat

Location: Wisbech - The Bowling Green Tap pub, Chase Street
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Known to the bar staff as 'Charlie', the ghost and the associated poltergeist activity has been known to shift from jovial to dangerous in a matter of minutes.

Shaking

Location: Wisbech - Unnamed farm close to fenland
Type: Poltergeist
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: The couple living at the farm left after enduring strange noises that started softly but soon caused the building to shake. Hundreds of sightseers descended on the site once the story broke, and the press claimed those who tried to stay in the house would leave before dawn. The noises eventually ceased and new occupants moved in.

Bomber Trying to Land

Location: Wittering - Wittering RAF base, airfield
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Second World War onwards, last witnessed 1990?
Further Comments: Crashing into the control tower during the Second World War, the bomber is said to re-enact the fatal accident, either silently descending until it reaches ground where it disappears or else it hits the Control Tower. Ghostly airmen have also been seen around the site of the crash, and a former MP reported feeling a presence and lights coming on and unexplained loud bangs in the control tower. They also heard footsteps in the empty building corridor in what was the old hangar for 1 squadron, together with observing shadows moving into rooms.
