Further Comments: Killed in a large accident which occurred at the site in 1923, this phantom woman has been seen many times; she steps out in front of oncoming traffic, as if deliberately trying to cause a crash. She is most often seen late in the afternoon.

Further Comments: Disappearing from one witness in a puff of smoke, this nun is believed to be one of the order which once ran the hospital.

Further Comments: A popular spot for suicides, several spirits are reported to haunt this disturbing area. One is that of a female figure who calmly steps off the cliff edge; another woman, this time in grey, walks along the cliff path, while locals speak of a ghastly black monk who convinces people to jump.

Further Comments: A heavy rock group recording in this studio, built on the site of a nunnery, claimed their music provoked ghosts of nuns to sing loudly, in an attempt to drown out the contemporary noise.

Further Comments: This woman has been seen several times, though her exact age cannot be guessed at as she wears a veil. Two more women were seen at the bar before they melted away, and a young girl has been seen playing in a corridor.

Further Comments: Seen by the novelist Pamela Frankau when at school here, this little creature ran across her bedroom floor and escaped via the landing, fading from view.

Further Comments: Whilst walking his two Yorkshire terriers, John Hescott encountered a large black cat. The feline walked away from a children's play area towards a service road. The sighting was reported to the police.

Further Comments: A phantom woman is said to haunt the stage area and has also been spotted sitting in the grand circle. A man was spotted on the fly floor during the 1990s who vanished without trace, while another witness spotted a heavy iron handle swinging itself for thirty seconds and felt something push past them with such force the witness was turned 45 degrees. In 2014, a grey man/figure was spotted in the wings.

Further Comments: The witness who saw this cat said it was the size of a small pony - he watched it as it passed within three meters of him.

Further Comments: A non-descript figure has been reported lurking in the tunnels of this treatment plant, and workers have also heard voices coming from behind the tunnel walls. A paranormal investigator was called in, though his findings were inconclusive.

Further Comments: Murdered in the town, Emily Kaye's (or Emily Bielby in some accounts) ghost, in the form of a white figure, was soon seen near the site of her murder. A blue/white light would also be reported by people walking the area at night. Another ghost, Irene Munro, was also reported in the area - she, too, was murdered.

Further Comments: A witness spotted a dark, slightly hutched figure striding along this alley. The figure moved silently and despite the appearance of walking, almost seemed to glide across the ground. The witness briefly lost sight of the figure, during which time, it vanished with seemingly nowhere to have gone.

Further Comments: Seeing one shuck is often thought of as an ill omen - the three which seem to haunt this area in a pack are a guaranteed bad portent.
