Pendragon
Location: Kirkby Stephen (Cumbria) - Pendragon Castle

Date / Time: Castle still stands (on private land)
Further Comments: Uther Pendragon, the father of King Arthur, resided here until he and a hundred of his men were poisoned by the Saxon invaders. Some believe Pendragon's ghost still remains here. Another ghost, that of Sir Hugh de Morville, haunts the building as punishment for murdering Thomas Becket. Finally, a hoard of treasure hidden here is protected by a phantom black hen that replaces the soil of any hole dug just as quick as it is removed!

Cooper
Location: Lacey Green (Buckinghamshire) - Coopers Grave (area of road), two stones at the junction of a bridleway

Further Comments: Cooper was a highwayman who was so successful at robbing the rich, died a wealthy man. Cooper was buried with his treasure along the road he committed many of his crimes, and the place post mortem he continues to dwell.

Further Comments: Strange shadowy entities once stood guard over the burial chambers, cursing anyone who removed treasure or relics.

Further Comments: A golden hoard is said to be concealed around this area. It is unclear whether this treasure relates to the phantom Romans said to walk the area.

Further Comments: This hill was formed when a giant buried his treasure, leaving a troop of warrior fairies to protect it. They have been called into action at least once, appearing as a would-be treasure hunter arrived armed with pick and shovel.

Katie Neevie's Hoord
Location: Lesmahagow (Lanarkshire) - A very large stone hidden on a farm in the area

Further Comments: A local rhyme reads: Between Dillerhill and Crossford,
There lies Katie Neevie's hoord'. It is thought that the hoard takes the form of gold concealed within a kettle, a boot and a bull hide.

Knight
Location: Lewes (Sussex) - Mount Caburn - iron age hillfort

Further Comments: A knight in gold armour and a silver coffin are said to be concealed under this fort. The fort was once believed to have created by Old Nick, one of the mounds of dirt he left behind while digging the nearby 'Devil's Dyke'.

Golden Warrior

Further Comments: While a local legend said that a warrior clad in gold was buried here; when excavated in 1924, gold and silver objects were found (but no golden warrior).

Headless Horseman

Further Comments: Holding his head under one arm, this horseman was said to have manifested when a small group of men attempted to dig up the barrow while looking for treasure (reputed to be a golden image).

Further Comments: Hidden under the Grey Mare is reputedly a coffin made from solid gold. There is also a local legend that connects the barrow to a phantom horse that runs around the area.

Further Comments: After concealing a hoard of gold and other treasures, these ghostly pirates still protect their stolen wealth.

Harpist
Location: Llandysul (Dyfed) - River Teifi

Further Comments: The sound of a harp that can be heard at the stretch of the river known as 'Pool of the Harper' is thought to belong to a performer who drowned there. The banks of the river, which stretches for some 75 miles, are said to be home to a couple of phantom women. A woman in green wearing emeralds is said to protect a hidden treasure (details of which are sadly lacking), while a woman dressed from head to toe in black drifts around looking for something (or someone).

Basking Beast

Further Comments: This creature, with a head like that of a horse and a single hump, rested ten metres from the shoreline, before slowing sinking beneath the water. A legend says that the Jacobites once hid a collection of treasure in the waters of the loch, where it still remains.

Further Comments: This hunk of rock rotates three times on hearing a cock crowing in the morning. The treasure under the stone should be accessible during this time, but hampered by the fact that only one particular cock will animate the rock.

Edmond Roe O'Kennedy

Further Comments: Edmond was murdered in the sixteenth century before telling anyone where he had concealed his hidden treasure. Since his death, Edmond's shade has appeared to visitors at the site, blood leaking from a large slit in his throat.

Further Comments: This barrow was destroyed after treasure hunters failed to find evidence of a burial chamber. Stories of a valuable hoard located in the area still exist.

Gentle Music

Further Comments: Three children reported hearing the sounds of battle coming from outside the castle, and seeing a knight on horseback who charged at them. Inside the castle, muffled sixteenth century music has been heard, while there are persistent rumours of buried treasure somewhere in the grounds.

Further Comments: One of these barrows (there are three) is said to contain a golden coffin. A storm is said to blow in if anyone starts to dig for it. One source mentions that headless phantom coffin bearers haunt the area.
