Further Comments: Entering the house from the rear, this phantom is said to vanish after passing the door to the living room. She appears to be running from something or someone, and looks terrified.

Further Comments: The ghost of a farmer who committed suicide would manifest in the form of a calf. During an exorcism, the entity was trapped within a snuff box - the container was thrown into a pond, where ghost and box still remain.

Drowning Lovers

Further Comments: A failed escape from Cromwellian soldiers resulted in a young officer and his lover drowning in the river Wye. Their ghosts, mounted on horseback, have been reported struggling in the river. Both people have also been standing in the ruins of the nearby castle.

Further Comments: The Devil tried to throw several lumps of earth at Stevenage - he missed the town, but one of the shots knocked down the steeple at Graveley church.

Further Comments: Falling insane after penance took its toll, a friar cursed the church and anyone who stood in its shadow. Another tale reports it is the rock summit of Raggedstone Hill that casts the cursed shadow.

Devil with his Pack

Further Comments: When boars lived wild, the Devil would periodically come out hunting with his hell hounds. They patrolled this area, inducing nightmares in any witness careless enough to watch them.

Further Comments: This local lass drowned herself in the village pond, now covered over. She was blamed for a brief poltergeist outbreak in the bar during the early eighties.

Further Comments: Passing through the gardens on the way home, a witness described the phantom Quaker which he encountered as taking more form the longer he looked at it. The entity appeared to be pointing in the direction he was walking.

Further Comments: After accidentally killing his assistant via overdose, the herbalist who worked here then took his own life. His ghost has haunted it since.

White Monk
Location: Hereford - St Peter's Square and Hereford Cathedral

Further Comments: A phantom monk moves away from the area of the war memorial, and heads towards the cathedral. Once at the destination, the phantom vanishes through the oak door. The ghost was observed by two policemen during the 1930s. The unnatural monk has also been spotted moving around the cathedral, normally in December. It is also worth noting that while normally dressed in white, other reports state the ghost wears dark clothing.

Devil Hound
Location: Hergest - Hergust Court, now a farmhouse

Further Comments: This hound would appear to members of the Vaughan family before one of their number died. It is said that when Black Vaughan was beheaded in 1483, his faithful hound seized and ran off with the head. The creature is said to have inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write 'Hound of the Baskervilles'.

Lady Hobbingdon
Location: Hindlip - Hindlip Hall (original building no longer standing) and grounds

Further Comments: The shade of the Lady, together with a phantom white calf, would be seen moving around the house revealing all the secret priest holes once a year - during life she performed the same task, feeding those who hid within. The grounds are now said to be haunted by a young girl wearing a tartan dress, quietly crying and looking for her mother.

Further Comments: Workers in the castle were too scared to visit the attic, where it is said the ghost haunts. The basement in turn is haunted by a raven that attacks any source of light taken down there.

Cat Attack

Further Comments: While hunting for the locally named 'Beast of Inkberrow', Nick and Sally Dyke discovered the cat in the churchyard - it knocked Nick over and took a swipe at Sally before running off. She was left with three ten centimetre long claw marks down one side.
